This Privacy Policy explains how BuyBrake handles information when you use the BuyBrake mobile application.

BuyBrake is designed to help users pause before purchases, reflect on impulse-buying decisions, and track purchase-related reflections and savings progress. We aim to minimize data collection and protect user privacy.
2. Information You Enter in the App
BuyBrake may allow you to enter information such as items you are considering buying, estimated prices, purchase reasons, reflection answers, cooling-off decisions, savings goals, and related notes.
This information is used to provide app features such as purchase reflection, impulse-buying checks, cooling-off reminders, progress summaries, and local insights.
3. Local Storage
BuyBrake is designed to store purchase-reflection content locally on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use the app.
Unless a feature clearly states otherwise, the information you enter into BuyBrake is intended to remain on your device.
4. Information We Receive When You Contact Us
If you contact us by email for support, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to respond to your request, provide support, and maintain necessary support records.
5. How We Use Information
BuyBrake uses information entered in the app to provide and improve app functionality, including:
- Helping you pause before making a purchase;
- Helping you reflect on whether a purchase is intentional or impulsive;
- Providing cooling-off reminders and purchase-reflection prompts;
- Tracking local progress and savings-related summaries;
- Supporting app functionality and user support requests.
6. Notifications
BuyBrake may request permission to send notifications, such as cooling-off reminders or purchase-reflection reminders. Notifications are optional. You can enable, disable, or manage notification permissions in your device settings.
7. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
If BuyBrake offers paid features, in-app purchases, or subscriptions, purchases may be processed by Apple. Payment processing is handled by Apple according to Apple's own terms and privacy practices. BuyBrake does not receive your full payment card number.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your locally stored purchase-reflection entries, spending notes, savings goals, or similar app content with advertisers or data brokers.
9. Tracking and Advertising
BuyBrake does not use your purchase-reflection entries for third-party advertising tracking. If the app requests any privacy-related permission, you may manage that permission through your device settings.
10. Data Retention
Information stored locally in BuyBrake remains on your device unless you delete it within the app, where such functionality is available, or delete the app from your device.
Support emails may be retained as needed to respond to your request, maintain support records, and comply with applicable obligations.
11. Data Deletion
You may delete locally stored BuyBrake data by using available in-app deletion features or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app may remove locally stored BuyBrake data from your device.
12. Children's Privacy
BuyBrake is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
13. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by BuyBrake. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. International Users
If you use BuyBrake outside your country or region of residence, you understand that information you choose to send to us by email may be processed where email services and support systems operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of BuyBrake after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
